(Heb)-Chadron Girls 4th At State Cross Country

KEARNEY - The Chadron High girls finished 4th in Class C yesterday at the Nebraska high school State Cross Country Championships at the University of Nebraska- Kearney.

    The Lady Cardinals finished with 66 points, missing 3rd place Columbus Scotus by 4 points. Boone Central/Newman Grove took the title with 44 points while Milford was 2nd at 57.

    Leading Chadron was Mackenzie Butts, the only district champion in school history, who finished 7th - missing 4th by less than 5-seconds.

     McKinley Fuller was 16th, sister Macaiah was 26th, Leila Tewahade 71st, Emma Witte 73, and Savanah Sayaloune 85th.

    For the Chadron boys, Nathan Burch was 27th and Carter Ryan 42nd. The Sidney Boys finished 3rd in Class C, 12 points behind champion Aurora, with Mitchell 5th.

      Gordon-Rushville's Jace Freeman was 47th in the Class D boy's race with the Mustangs' Kassyl (Castle) Gunwall finished 91st in the girls race.

      The Gering girls ran away with the Class B title as Tukker Romey, Shailee Patton and Madison Seiler finished 2-3-4.
