By: Jeremy Anderson Posted at: 02/05/2019 07:39 AM
(Lincoln)- The Cincinnati Bengals have officially hired former Nebraska great Zac Taylor as the 10th head coach in the history of the franchise. The Bengals made the announcement on Monday morning after Taylor completed his season with the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl 53.

Taylor is the first Husker in the Super Bowl era to become an NFL head coach, and just the fifth former Nebraska player to lead an NFL team.

Taylor started 26 consecutive games at quarterback for Nebraska in 2005 and 2006, leading Nebraska to 17 victories. In 2006, he was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year for his effort in guiding the Huskers to a Big 12 North crown.
