(Neb.)- Late Free Throw Lifts Lady Cards Past Douglas
(Chadron)- Shea Bailey connected on one of her two free throws with 8-seconds left to lift Chadron to a 57-56 win over Douglas on Saturday.
After trailing at the end of the each the 1st and 2nd quarters, the Lady Cardinals mounted a comeback in a 3rd quarter dominated by Peyton Underwood as she dropped in 8 of her 16-points in the quarter to help tie the game at 39 heading to the fourth.
Chadron took their first lead since early in the first quarter off of a Tyleigh Strotheide basket only for Douglas to answer and once again take the lead.
Underwood again would give Chadron the lead late, but a free throw tied it at 56 with under 15-seconds left in the game. Bailey would sink her 2nd of two free throws and a last minute shot by Douglas would bounce off the rim to seal the win.
The Lady Cardinals are now 9-7 on the season and will travel to Alliance on Tuesday.
