(Neb)-Dawes Co Historical Museum Garden Party To Focus On Dolls
CHADRON - The Dawes County Historical Museum hosts its annual Garden Party, a freewill donation fundraiser, today from 4:00 to 6:00 pm,
This year's program highlights the collection of antique dolls donated to the museum last year by Clara and Richard Erixzon. Local children will present brief stories about the dolls, some of which date back to the 1800s.
Clara Erixson made and repaired dolls out of her own shop in Lincoln for some 4 decades before moving to Crawford in 1999 after Richard retired as the long-time Lincoln city engineer and public works director.
She says they knew the first time they visited the museum that it was the right place for her dolls, and that was before a new building was added to display her collection and the telephone industry collection of Carl Larsen.
The Dawes County Historical Museum Garden Party also includes music and refreshments served from the new kitchen serving window on the southside of the main building.
