(Neb)-PPHD Director Named To National Assn Board
HEMINGFORD - Panhandle Public Health District Director Kim Engel has been elected to the 27-member board of directors of the National Association of County and City Health Officials, which represents the nation's nearly 3,000 local and tribal governmental health departments.
The board is the association's public face and represents its members in matters of policy, public health practice, and collaboration with partners in the public and private health sectors.
Engel has headed the Panhandle Public Health District since its formation in August 2003 and says she's looking forward to serving on the association board and bringing to it the perspective of a smaller local health department.
Engel calls the association a great organization and an effective means to collectively make a difference across the nation, adding that she's passionate about public health and working together with partners to improve the health of our communities.
