(Neb)-Jeff Brewer Easily Wins GOP Sheriff's Primary
RUSHVILLE - Jeff Brewer ran away with the Republican primary for Sheridan County Sheriff on Tuesday, taking nearly 75% of the vote in defeating Chris Henry 781-281.
Given the overwhelming Republican majority among Sheridan County voters, Brewer is a heavy favorite to defeat Courtney Jackson, unopposed on the Democratic side, this November and succeed long-time Sheriff Terry "Homer" Robbins, who is retiring.
The only other contested race in Sheridan County was for the Gordon Rushville School Board, where 8 candidates were vying for 6 spots on the November ballot for 3 seats on the school board.
Those not making the cut were Michelle Shelton, who received 80, and Jeff Hugan, who got 181. Advancing to November in order of votes were Sherry Retzlaff with 551, Kathleen Willnerd with 516, Dave Johnson 461, Sandy Hathorn 431, Krystal Freeseman 325, and Kari Johnson 222.
