(Neb)-Chadron Community Christmas Dinner Almost Set

By: John Axtell Posted at: 12/22/2017 08:40 PM
CHADRON - The new volunteer crew in charge of Chadron's long-running Caring and Sharing Community Christmas Dinner at the Assumption Arena says just about everything is set for the Monday event.

Dinner will be served starting as close to noon as cooking will allow and run till a little after 1:00 or when diners stop showing up. As always, it's free with cash donations gladly welcomed to provide seed money for next year's dinner.

Spokesman Tom Chasek says they've received all the donations of turkeys, hams, and vegetables that are needed, but that they could use more desserts.

Chasek, who plans to handle most of the cooking along with his sister, says they have enough volunteers to handle the set-up and serving but could still use a few more people to stick around and help with clean-up.

There will once again be home and work deliveries for those unable to come to the Assumption Arena. Those can be arranged by calling Chasek at 308-430-0885.

Those who get voice mail need to leave a name, address, number of meals, and a call-back number to confirm all details. Deliveries will start around 11:30 Monday morning.
