(Neb)-See The Moon Up Close Tonight At CSC  Listen

By: John Axtell Posted at: 10/28/2017 01:50 PM
CHADRON - The Chadron State College Physical Sciences Club is expanding its weekly Science Saturday program for area kids today to take part in the International Observe the Moon Night.

Spokesman Stachia Norris says the club will have telescopes set up on the parking lot of the CSC Math and Science Building at 12th and Chapin from 6:00-8:00 for games, activities, and a close-up look at Earth's nearest neighbor.

Norris says it doesn't take an observatory-size telescope to get a new appreciation of the moon; even small portable ones reveal amazing things.
Because Chadron State has a planetarium, the International Observe the Moon Night program will go on even if the weather doesn't cooperate, just moving indoors for planetarium shows and other activities. There will also be light refreshments.
