(SD)-Rapid City Hotel Sues Guest Over Unpaid $17K Bill

By: John Axtell Posted at: 09/04/2017 11:58 PM
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A Rapid City hotel is suing a man for allegedly skipping out on his bill during his stay during last year's Sturgis motorcycle rally.
Rapid City Hospitality LLC and its GrandStay Residential Suites say in the lawsuit that Dan Stockdale owes them more than $17,000 for the 8 rooms he booked for 2 weeks.
     Stockdale was a Rally vendor
selling pictures of scantily-clad women body-painted to resemble wild animals to raise money for his World Nature Coalition, which he says supports wildlife and the environment.

He told the Rapid City Journal the hotel charged exorbitant rates and their rooms were infested with roaches and bedbugs, accusations the hotel denies.
