(Neb.)-Chadron Schools Approve Budget For Fiscal Year
(Chadron)-The Chadron Public Schools Board of Education approved the budget for the upcoming fiscal year at their regular meeting on Monday evening. According to Superintendent Dr. Caroline Winchester, there were no major changes from last year, but there was a slight increase in the budget.
The budget had been posted prior to the meeting, and Winchester said there were no changes made to the posted budget. For the 2013-2014 fiscal year, the budget will be $11,504,194, which is up from $11,381,889 for the fiscal year 2012-2013. She said there was also a slight change in the tax asking, with the number last year at 1.055, and this year at 1.03. Winchester noted that an increase in the Special Building Fund, from .0105 totaling $40,891.90 up to .02 totaling $80,353.80, will go to pay off the million dollar loan that the district had taken out for the HVAC system at the Primary School.
Uati Paopao and Brock Mittleider were recognized for their work on the new school web page, with Paopao saying Mittleider deserved more of the kudos than he did for all of his efforts. The Board also recognized Mrs. Fromm for her work with students over the summer, and six seniors were approved for graduation in December.
