(CHADRON)-Collette Fernandez from the Chadron Chamber of Commerce says it’s already time to break ground to the south of town for a new “Welcome to Chadron” sign. The ground breaking event will take place on Monday afternoon, May 20th. Residents are invited to the site, located at Hwy. 385 and 10th Street, at 4:00 p.m. The chamber will have their golden Chamber shovels out and ready to break ground on this first of three welcome signs to be built on outlying areas of the city. Fernandez says she is grateful for LB840 funds and for all who have worked so hard to make the new signs a reality. The concept of new city signs was the original idea of the local betterment group People for Positive Growth.
