(Neb.)-Activities Taking Place In Alliance This Week

(ALLIANCE)-The City of Alliance will host a Fall Festival on Saturday, October 13th, in downtown Alliance in the 300 and 400 blocks of Box Butte, the parking lot at 4th and Niobrara, and the parking lot on 4th and Box Butte. These street areas will be closed that day starting at 8:00 and will remain closed until 5:00 p.m. For more information, contact Lue Nerland at 308-762-1520 or lnerland@bbc.net.
October 7th-13th is Public Power Week. The city of Alliance is inviting residents to help celebrate on Friday from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Utility Facility at 1313 W. 1st St. There will be lunch, prizes, give-a-ways and bucket truck rides.
Winter hours have begun at the Knight Museum and SandhillsCenter. The museum will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Advance tickets for the annual RSVP Chicken Noodle dinner are available at the AllianceSeniorCenter and the Chamber of Commerce for $6 each. The dinner will be held on Sunday, October 14th at the SeniorCenter from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
The Water Department is reminding all water customers to remove garden hoses from water spigots and insulate exposed water lines and water meters to prevent damage during freezing weather. Owners of underground sprinkler systems should be winterizing them now to prevent damage to the system backflow device.
