Funeral services for Sara Elizabeth Forney “Ohiya San Win,” age 83, will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Father Joe Daoust, S.J., and Sister Barb Bogenschutz officiating.
 
Burial will be at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Cemetery in Oglala, SD.
 
A two-night wake service will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with a Rosary starting at 7:00 PM on Saturday evening at the Brother Rene Hall.
 
Sara was born on September 20, 1934 in the Drywood Community near Oglala, SD to Talton Hawk and Jenny (Hat) Hawk. She made her journey to the Spirit World on February 27, 2018 at Rapid CityRegionalHospital in Rapid City, SD.
 
Sara is survived by spouse Darold Forney of Oglala, SD; children Thomas (Louella) Patton Sr. and Donald Patton of Oglala, SD, Sandra (Scott) Mabin of Oglala, SD, Eldon (Alva) Forney of Wounded Knee, SD, and Cheryl (Dave) Forney, Mitzi (Coy) Big Crow, and Paul (Missy) Forney, all of Oglala, SD; hunka son Greg Kokolous (Rosemary) of Pennsylvania; siblings Lambert (Mary Lou) Hawk of Pine Ridge, SD and Steve (Pru) Hawk Sr. of Oglala, SD; adopted brothers Frank Marshall of Pine Ridge, SD and Vincent Ten Fingers of Chadron, NE; grandchildren Shauna Patton-Neuman of Boyden, IA, Thomas Patton Jr. of Gering, NE, Melissa Alford of Lincoln, NE, Joshua Williams, Nathaniel Simpson and Eric Mabin, all of Oglala, SD, Ashley Forney of Rapid City, SD, Bradley Forney of Wounded Knee, SD, Ryan Forney of Fargo, ND, Michael Wright and Tyler Wright of Rapid City, SD, Derek Youngman of Oglala, SD, Samantha Youngman of Rapid City, SD, Shaina Forney, River Forney, and Amorita “Rosie” Cross of Oglala, SD, and Wakinyan Forney of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. 
 
Sara was preceded in death by parents Talton and Jenny (Hat) Hawk; siblings Joe Hawk, Phoebe He Crow, Phoebe Thunder Horse, and Tillie White; and children Owen Patton Jr., Christian Patton, and Troy Dean Mabin.
