01/24/2018 - Orien Arlen Brown

Funeral services for Orien Arlen Brown, age 24, will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Pine Ridge Middle School Gym in Pine Ridge, SD with Charles McGaa officiating. All Prayer Leaders are welcome.
Burial will be at HolyRosary Mission Catholic Cemetery in Pine Ridge, SD.
A one-night wake service will start at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Pine Ridge Middle School Gym in Pine Ridge, SD with Rosary services beginning at 7:00 PM.
Orien Arlen Brown was born on February 9, 1993 to Kimberly Cuny and Alan Brown. He made his journey to the Spirit World on January 20, 2018 near Chamberlain, SD.
Orien enjoyed spending time with his daughter, friends, and family. He loved playing sports and being outdoors. Orien coached numerous high school and middle school athletic teams; he played baseball, basketball, volleyball, fast pitch, and darts all year round. Orien attended school in Pine Ridge and graduated from PineRidgeHigh School in 2011. After graduation, Orien attended Minnesota West College and played basketball and baseball during his time there, graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts in 2013. Orien also attended Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College, where he played basketball and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Construction Tech.  
Orien is survived by parents Kimberly Cuny and Alan Brown of Pine Ridge, SD; daughter Blake Arori Brown of Grand Forks, ND; siblings Thomas Cottier Jr. of Nashville, TN, Ashley Cottier of Pine Ridge, SD, Cynthia Brown of Rapid City, SD, and Jacob Brown, Jesse Brown, Santia Goings, Corey Brown, Alan Brown Jr., Aaron Brown, and Aiden Brown, all of Pine Ridge, SD; goddaughter Mia Long Visitor of Pine Ridge, SD; maternal grandparents Francine Richards and Monte Whalen of Pine Ridge, SD and Francis Cuny of Blackhawk, SD; godparents Irv Provost and Dorothy Two Bulls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Orien was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Elgin D. Brown and Carol J. Ten Fingers.
Pallbearers will be Evan Hawk, Jamie Fallis, DJ Middletent, Jordan His Law, LJ Flute, Corey Shangreau, Bill Ross, RJ Pond, Austin “Coop” Kirkie, and Shevy Stepp.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Orien Arlen Brown.
