12/29/2017 - Hope (Stands) Tirado

Funeral services for Hope Madonna (Stands) Tirado “Cante’ Ohitika Win,” age 50, will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Rapid City, SD with Father Ed Witt, S.J., officiating.
 
Burial will be at 12:30 PM on Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.
 
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Rapid City, SD.
 
A Rosary service will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Rapid City, SD.
 
Hope was a veteran in the U.S. Army.
 
Hope was born on May 4, 1967 in Pine Ridge, SD to Homer Paul Stands Sr. and Helen (Long Warrior) Stands. She passed away on December 21, 2017 at Regional Health Home Plus Hospice in Rapid City, SD.
 
Hope is survived by children John Sitting Holy Jr. of Box Elder, SD, Cinnamon Flying Hawk of Sioux City, IA, and Roberto Jaquez, Alicia Munoz, and Pedro Munoz of Pine Ridge, SD; siblings Loretta Zimiga/Stands of Vermillion, SD, Fred Stands of Oglala, SD, Hazel Maria Stands of Rapid City, SD, Happy Stands of Oglala, SD, Henrietta Nelson-Stands and Hubert Stands of Oklahoma, and Victoria Stands of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren Wanipila Sitting Holy, Magaju Sitting Holy, Gabriel Rodriguez, Isaiah Rodriguez, Miguel Tapia, and Storm Grimaldo. 
 
Hope was preceded in death by parents Homer Sr. and Helen Stands; siblings Jerry Stands, James Stands, Harriett Stands, Hank Stands, Homer Stands II, Lyle Stands, and Harvey Stands; and cousin Harry Stands II.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Hope Madonna (Stands) Tirado “Cante’ Ohitika Win.”
