12/28/2017 - Lily Mae Red Eagle

Funeral services for Lily Mae Red Eagle “Punkeska Ali Win” “Wanbli Sa Akicita Win,” age 96, will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD with Reverend Cordelia Red Owl and Lay Reader Anthony Wounded Head officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Leola One Feather and Kenny Farmer.
 
Burial will be at 3:00 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Lakota Freedom Veteran’s Cemetery in Kyle, SD.
 
A two-night wake service will begin at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD.
 
Lily Mae was a veteran in the U.S. Army.
 
Lily Mae was born on May 4, 1921 in Pine Ridge, SD to Jacob and Susie (Brown Eyes) White Eyes. She made her journey to the Spirit World on December 17, 2017 at her home in Kyle, SD.
 
Lily Mae is survived by children Janice One Feather, Jonathan One Feather and Cheryl One Feather, all of Kyle, SD; adopted daughters Sterline Rooks-Jealous of Him of Porcupine, SD and Melanie Janis of Kyle, SD; 5 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
 
Lily Mae was preceded in death by parents Jacob and Susie White Eyes; siblings Jacob, Margaret, Jacob, Myrtle, and Martha White Eyes, Mildred Hernandez-Young and Christina Iron Cloud; grandchildren Paula Susie Mae, Paula Mae Spider and Britni Spider; great-grandchildren Keona and James “Jimmy”; and ex-husband Enoch “Paul” One Feather.
 
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Lily Mae Red Eagle “Punkeska Ali Win” “Wanbli Sa Akicita Win.”
