A Catholic Funeral Mass for Christian La’monte Yellow Horse-Young “Tatanka Cikala,” age 8 months old, will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD. Traditional Lakota services are To Be Announced.
Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Wounded Knee, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with rosary services at 7:00 PM on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD.
Christian was born on March 15, 2017 in Savannah, GA to William Young and Destiny Yellow Horse. He made his journey to the Spirit World on December 7, 2017 at his home in Colorado Springs, CO.
Christian is survived by parents William Young and Destiny Yellow Horse of Colorado Springs, CO; brother Amari Yellow Horse-Young of Colorado Springs, CO; maternal grandparents Ella Red Cloud-Yellow Horse and George Yellow Horse Sr. of Oglala, SD, Greg and Donna Ross of Porcupine, SD, and Linda and Jim Red Cloud, Richard Red Cloud, Verdell Red Cloud Jr. and Mike Two Two Sr., all of Pine Ridge, SD; paternal grandparents William Young and Lacricha Crutcher of Ohio; maternal great-grandparents Sylvia Red Cloud and Linda and Mona Two Two of Pine Ridge, SD, and Jo Ann Two Two of Rapid City, SD; paternal great-grandmother Barbara Jean Crutcher of Ohio; uncles Lionell “June Bug” and Amy Red Cloud, Edward and Amber Smith, George and Nicki Yellow Horse Jr., Matthew Red Cloud, Marvin Red Cloud, Santonio Crutcher and Stacey Wynn; and aunts Faniesha Smith, Jaimie Her Many Horses, Julia Her Many Horses and Ra’vean Wynn.
Christian was preceded in death by great-grandparents Verdell Red Cloud Sr., Yvonne Standing Crow, Leonard Red Cloud, Vienna Two Two, and Marvin Red Cloud Sr.; and great-great-grandparents Chief Oliver Red Cloud, Helena Red Cloud and Topsy Young.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Christian La’monte Yellow Horse-Young “Tatanka Cikala.”
