09/23/2017 - Reuben Yellow Thunder Jr.

Funeral services for Reuben James “To’” Yellow Thunder Jr., age 44, will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Sister Barb Bogenschutz officiating.
Burial will be at Pine Creek Cemetery, #4.
A two-night wake service will begin with the first night at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala, SD. The second night will begin at 3:00 PM on Friday at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD.
Reuben was born on December 27, 1972 in Pine Ridge, SD to Reuben Yellow Thunder Sr. and Serena Two Elk. He passed away on September 17, 2017 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD. 
Reuben married Lori Bagola on March 24, 2017. He loved to fish, play horseshoes, have cookouts, listen to music, and dance. His favorite football team was the Kansas City Chiefs, and his favorite color was red. Reuben loved all his family, and he loved to tease and laugh. He enjoyed kicken it with his friends, bros, and family. 
Reuben is survived by wife Lori Yellow Thunder of Oglala, SD; mother Serena Two Elk of Oglala, SD; stepfather Manuel Two Bulls of Oglala, SD; mother-in-law Corrine Brave of Oglala, SD; sisters Carmelita (Darren) Yellow Thunder-New Holy, Courtney Two Elk, and Sherry Black Bear, all of Oglala, SD and Tess Chase In Sight of #4; grandmother Sylvia Yellow Thunder of Hot Springs, SD; children Cheyenne Silva of Virginia and Chavez Little-Yellow Thunder, Santiago Yellow Horse, Reuben Waters-Yellow Thunder III, Jodessa Yellow Thunder, Leona Yellow Thunder, Bradley Yellow Thunder, and Reuben Yellow Thunder IV, all of Rapid City, SD; stepchildren Hoksila, Kaymie, and Jodean, all of Oglala, SD; grandchildren EJ Silva, Alex Silva, Coni, Chavez Jr., Chyson, Ashley, Mylieh, Ronessa,  Braydon, Mason, Tayson, and Celesie, all of Rapid City, SD; aunts Carmelita Two Elk (Cecial Bear Robe), Emily Two Elk, Genevieve Chase In Sight, and Roberta Two Elk; and uncles Alex (Roberta) Two Elk and Curtis, Orville, Tom, and Patrick Yellow Thunder.
Reuben was preceded in death by father Reuben Yellow Thunder Sr.; son Cody (Yellow Thunder) Little; grandparents Aaron and Julia Two Elk and Winfred Yellow Thunder; great-grandparents James White Bird and Winnie Chase In Sight; uncles Winfred Yellow Thunder Jr., James “Jim” Yellow Thunder Sr., Aloysius Two Elk, and Aaron Two Elk Jr.; and aunt Grace Two Elk-Black Bear.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Reuben James “To’” Yellow Thunder Jr.
