07/28/2017 - Bruce Eugene Chizek

Memorial services for Bruce Eugene Chizek will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Chadron Berean Church with Pastor Frank VanCampen officiating.
A private family committal service will be held at 9:00 AM at Greenwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Chadron Berean Church and Chadron Aquatics Center.
Bruce passed away at home on Thursday, July 20, 2017.
The youngest son of Robert T. and Betty J. (Kruse) Chizek, Bruce was born on September 25, 1952 in Chadron, NE. He attended Kenwood Elementary and graduated from ChadronHigh School in 1971.
He married the love of his life, Lois Jenine Jones, on July 27, 1997 in Chadron. He was a loving and devoted husband.
He learned and mastered many skills while working for Chadron Wholesale, Chizek Radiator, bee keeping with his Dad, Charles McCance Ranches, Dawes County Weed District, East-side Eitemillers, City of Chadron, Walmart, and SWANN.
He enjoyed the outdoors as reflected in his passion for dirt bikes, fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was a talented woodworker, creating many beautiful pieces that he loved to give as gifts.
He is survived by wife Lois; mother Betty Chizek; brother John (Vicki) Chizek; nephew Roger (Carrie) Chizek; uncles Donald Chizek, Richard (Sandi) Chizek, and Kenneth Chizek; aunts Maxine (Bernard) Deans and Doloris Buckmaster; mother-in-law Lorene Jones; sister-in-law Sheryl Bruns; brothers-in-law Leonard (Roma) Jones, Bernard (Carolyn) Jones, and Robert Poe; and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by father Robert T. Chizek; nephew Craig L. Chizek; and sister-in-law Teresa S. (Jones) Poe.
He will be remembered as a beloved husband and son and as a quiet and gentle soul by all who knew him.
