07/19/2017 - Wanda Mae Siers

Funeral services for Wanda Mae Siers “Sung Manitu Ho Waste Win,” age 66, will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD. Traditional services will be provided by Ivis Long Visitor.
Burial will be at St. Matthew's Episcopal Cemetery in Slim Buttes, SD.
A procession of family and friends met at Sioux Funeral Home at 3:30 PM on Monday, July 17, 2017 and left for the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 5:00 PM on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD.
Wanda made her journey across the Milky Way after passing away near Red Shirt Table, SD on July 8, 2017, accompanied by grandchildren Jeremy Little Jr., Janae Swift Eagle-Little, Mato Siers, and Winyan DeCory. Wanda was born on December 27, 1950 to Frank Siers and Mildred Jensen.
Wanda had the biggest heart of all. She was a descendent of the 1890 Wounded Knee Massacre and was a well-loved and respected person during the 1973 Wounded Knee Resistance. 
Wanda’s family meant the world to her; she raised eleven children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also was seen as a mother and grandmother to many. Wanda survived several hardships with strength and love and served as a role model. She was always present at community events and funerals to support everyone around her. She will be missed by many people, especially by her children, sisters, brothers, and family; she was the matriarch and has big shoes to fill. 
Wanda was dedicated to the Sundance and her Sundance family; her presence will be felt and greatly missed.
Wanda is survived by children Misty Sioux Little-Davis, Sioux Dawn Little-Oldson, Michelle Little, Wallace Little Jr., Jason Little, Joshua Little, Jeremiah Little, Chauney Siers, Shane Siers, and Ashley Siers; siblings Thelma Siers, Margaret Siers, Helen Red Feather, Sue Deranger, Albert Siers, Lester Siers, Theodore Siers, Frank Siers Jr., and Douglas Jensen; and many extended family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and relatives.
Wanda was preceded in death by father Frank Siers; mother Mildred Jensen; sister Cleo Janis; son Jeremy Little Sr.; grandson Cody Yellow Thunder-Little; and two stillborn children.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Wanda Mae Siers “Sung Manitu Ho Waste Win.
