Memorial services for Leo Daniels, age 91, of Whitney, Nebraska will be Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron with Reverend George Kilmer officiating.
A memorial has been established. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE, 69337.

Leo M. Daniels, age 91 of Whitney, NE passed away April 19, 2013 at the Ponderosa Villa in Crawford, NE.
Leo was born on May 20, 1921 at Minatare, NE to Jacob Daniels and Anna Daniels. He was the third of four children. As a young child the family moved to the Jimmy Good place north east of Chadron. They then moved to the Deadhorse Community for one year. The family next moved to the Oscar Renfroe place south east of Whitney where Leo started school at District #8. The family then moved to a farm north east of Whitney where Leo lived until he married and moved to his place north of Whitney.
On November 21, 1941 he was united in marriage to Beverly Hawkins at Edgemont, SD. They were then blessed with two children Neil and Marita. Leo and Beverly farmed and fed sheep for 30 years. Leo loved trucking and started a breeding firm that then developed into the Whitney Livestock operation where he bought and sold sheep, cattle, and wool. Throughout his livestock career he bought over 1,000,000 head of sheep.
Leo was a school board member and Whitney Irrigation board member for many years. He was a faithful member of the Whitney Methodist Church. He loved his family and loved to sit back and watch people gather at his home.
Immediate Survivors:
Wife: Beverly
Children: daughter, Marita; son-in-law, Tim Anthony of Lexington, NE; daughter-in-law, Dorine Daniels of Chadron, NE.
Grandchildren Bret Daniels, Scot Daniels, Courtney Anthony, Greg Failla, Carrie Cox
Great Grandchildren: 12
Sisters: Mary Daniels and Martha Klaus.
Numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents Jake and Anna Daniels, brother Elzin Daniels and son Neil Daniels.
Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
