(Neb.)- Two Sign To Play CSC Softball
CHADRON, Neb. -- Chadron State College Head Softball Coach Kaley Scearcy announced the signing of two players in the early National Letter of Intent signing period. Both competed at Colorado Class 4A schools.
Cassidy Horn will join her sister, Megan on the Eagles' roster in 2018. She is a 5-6 right-handed pitcher from Air Academy High, north of Colorado Springs, where the Kadets won four regional titles and made the state tournament each season she was a part of. Horn pitched for a 37-9 career record and a 2.37 career earned run average, striking out one of every five batters while earning three all-conference honors and two All-State honorable mentions.
A 5-8 infielder from Denver, Bailey Marvel batted .547 over the past two seasons and nearly .500 for her career. She stole 61 career stolen bases for the Jaguars, who made a state tournament appearance in 2014 and came one game from going this fall, when D'Evelyn and Air Academy met in the regional semifinal. Marvel was an all-conference selection all four seasons, and received All-State honorable mention twice.
The remainder of the 2018 class is expected to be announced in April.
