(Spearfish, SD)- The Black Hills State University football team is excited to announce their 2014-15 season's schedule which will begin the first week of September, which will also mark the beginning of their third season in NCAA division II's Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The Yellow Jackets will play five home games and will hit the road six weeks out of the season with nine RMAC contests.
On Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014 the Yellow Jackets will open their season as they make their way over to face FCS opponent, Montana State University, in Bozeman, Mont., with a start time to be announced. After taking last season off from facing an NCAA division I opponent, the Jackets will make the trip to Bozeman to face the Bobcats who compete in the Big Sky conference.
The second game of the year will come in the classic "Battle for the Homestake Trophy" versus now fellow division II rival and one of the newest members of the RMAC, South Dakota School of Mines, on Sept. 13, at Lyle Hare Stadium at 1 p.m.
The Jackets will be at home the following week on Sept. 20, when they host Fort Lewis College for the annual Homecoming Swarm Days game. The next five weeks BHSU will go back-and-forth from home and away games beginning with a trip to Colorado School of Mines on Sept. 27. The next week they will host Colorado Mesa University on Oct. 4, followed by a trip to Western State Colorado University on Oct. 11.
Family Day will come on Oct. 18 when the Jackets return home for a battle with Adams State University at 1 p.m., which will be followed by two consecutive road games at Chadron State College (10/25) and to powerhouse Colorado State-Pueblo on Nov. 1.
The season will close the final two weeks beginning with Senior Day against N.M Highlands University on Nov. 8, with the Jackets final game of the year coming at Western N.M University in Silver City, N.M. on Nov. 15 at 12 p.m.
