The Chadron volleyball team picked up a trio of victories Saturday to win the Alliance tournament.

The Cardinals got off to a slow start, losing their first set to Alliance 25-19 before winning the next two 25-10, 25-22. Maaryn Davis led Chadron in the match with 11 kills and eight digs. Peyton Hinn and Ashlea Kerr added nine kills each.

Game two went much smoother for Chadron as they swept Scottsbluff 25-18, 25-20. Davis and Chandler Hageman each had seven kills to lead the Lady Cardinals.

Chadron then won the final in two sets, beating Gering 25-21, 25-21. Hageman had ten kills for Chadron. Jayden Garrett set the team up with 23 assists as well as two serve aces.

"Not a bad tournament overall," Coach Don Matt said. "We had some lapses with intensity but were able to fight through and played pretty solid in the final.

Chadron will play Alliance at home Tuesday night in their final regular season match before Subdistricts, which will be Monday Nov. 4 at Armstrong Gymnasium on KCSR.
