(Neb.)-Eight CSC football players make All-Academic first team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Eight Chadron State College football players have been placed on the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic First Team.
The Eagles and Colorado Mesa, who also had eight players tabbed for the team, tied for the most selections.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.30 and be a key contributor on offense, defense or special teams. Sports information directors from each RMAC school voted on the teams.
Chadron State's offensive first team selections are junior quarterback Jonn McLain of Chadron, senior tailback Glen Clinton of Cody, Wyo., senior inside receiver Cody Roes of Chadron, and junior offensive lineman Sam Parker of Harrison, Neb.
McLain was the RMAC All-Academic Player of the Year in 2012 and Clinton is making his third straight appearance on the first team.
The defensive selections include junior defensive lineman Zach Sandstrom of Chadron, senior linebacker Shea Koch of Custer, S.D., senior defensive back Pierre Etchemendy of Douglas, Wyo., and senior defensive back Tyler McFarland of Boise, Idaho.
Etchemendy and Sandstrom were also first team choices in 2012.
The honorable mention list includes quarterback Patrick O'Boyle of Gering, wide receiver Kyle Hooper of Alliance, inside receivers Ethan Bauer of Morse Bluff and Austen Stephens of Lincoln, linebackers Isaac Holscher of Scottsbluff, Taz Olson of Prairie City, S.D., Clay Cundall of Buffalo, Wyo., and Alex Sleep of Breckenridge, Colo., defensive backs Tyler Wright of Arvada, Colo., Conor Casey of Rapid City, S.D., and Cole Montgomery of Casper, Wyo.
