To be eligible, a student-athlete must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.30 and be a key contributor on offense, defense or special teams. Sports information directors from each RMAC school voted on the teams.

Jester, a 2012 RMAC All-Academic Second Team selection, has a 3.83 GPA in business. Roybal has a 3.3 GPA, also in business, and McLain has a 3.7 GPA in math and physical education.

Colorado State University-Pueblo setter Kacy Grffin is the RMAC All-Academic Player of the Year.
