(Neb.)-Chadron golfers improve at Western Conference
It was a long day for Chadron's girls golf team Friday as they left town at 4:45 a.m. to return to Sidney for Western Conference. The team was rewarded, though, with two of the three varsity golfers improving on the scores they had on the same course Tuesday.
Cali Crile led the way with a 102. Coach Curt Holmquist said her 47 on the front nine was Crile's first time breaking 50 for nine holes on Sidney's course.
Haleigh Shuck also improved on Tuesday's score by shooting 115. Homquist said she's hitting the ball well, but it's just not showing up on the scorecard yet. Kortney Hageman also had 115 for the Lady Cardinals.
Brooke Roes played the JV portion of the tournament, lowering her score by 8 strokes.
Scottsbluff again won the team title with a score of 356. Gering's Sam Rahmig was the top individual with an 83.
Chadron's next tournament will be Sept. 10 when they host the Chadron Invite. Coach Holmquist said it's also possible the team may schedule an after school dual next week if weather permits.
