(Neb.)-Chadron golfers open season in Sidney
The Chadron girls golf team battled both their opponents and the temperature Tuesday as they opened the season at the Sidney Invite.
Kortney Hageman was the top golfer for the Lady Cardinals with a score of 100, which is the best she's ever shot at Sidney. Cali Crile also had a personal best for the course at 104. Haleigh Shuck rounded out the varsity scoring at 116.
Coach Curt Holmquist said the three combined to shoot 13 strokes better than they did in the same event last year.
Brooke Roes played in the JV division. Holmquist said she played well for someone who just picked up the game of golf a few weeks ago. Freshmen Alyssa Noble and Ahlaura Pourier also attended the meet to watch the varsity and played six holes each to get experience on the course.
Scottsbluff won the event with a team score of 350. McCook's Megan Vetrovsky was the top individual with a 76.
