(Neb.)-Chadron golfers bounce back Thursday
The Chadron boys golf team recovered from a pair of bad tournaments by placing sixth at the Ogallala Invite on Thursday.
Chadron shot a team score of 371, 30 shots better than their score from Tuesday. McCook edged Scottsbluff for the team title, led by a 71 from individual champion Mack Alspaugh.
Colin Deines had the best score for the Cardinals with 88. Keenan Johnson carded a 90, Jaden Stack had 91, Alec Burk posted 92 and Calen Johnson rounded out Chadron's scoring with 101.
"We kept the ball in play better today," coach Randy Burk said. "That was important for the team's mindset going back to Scottsbluff for districts on Monday. Colin Deines and Keenan Johnson both had career bests today, which was great for them."
The district tournament will be Monday at Scottsbluff Country Club.
