(Neb.)-Eagles drop two at Highlands (Correction)
LAS VEGAS, N.M. – The Chadron State softball team lost two games in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference clash with New Mexico Highlands and Black Hills State Saturday.
In the first game, the Eagles (10-16, 8-11) lost a close contest to the Yellow Jackets, 3-2. In the second game, the Eagles finished with 11 hits but left eight runners on base and fell to New Mexico Highlands, 7-3.
Aryn Grywusiewicz pitched seven strong innings for the Eagles against Black Hills. She allowed three runs and seven hits for the game, but the Eagles’ offense struggled to provide help, finishing with just four hits.
Nikki Ritzen had two of those hits and she also scored a run.
In the second game, Katie Londo was a bright spot for the Eagles, going 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
The Eagles’ next contest is Saturday, April 6 when they host Metro State and Fort Lewis in a double header. The opening pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m.
