The volleyball coaches have been selected for the 29th annual West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Game. This year's game will be played Saturday, June 1st at Cougar Palace in Scottsbluff starting at 2 p.m.

Kim Turnbull-Cambpell from Gordon-Rushville will lead the West team for the second time. She previously coached the West in 2004.

Turnbull-Campbell's Gordon-Rushville team finished this past season with an 11-21 record, losing to Chadron in the subdistrict semifinal.

Kim Davis from Chadron has been chosen as the assistant for the West. Davis was an assistant for a Lady Cardinal team that went 27-3 and qualified for the state tournament for the first time in nine years.

The East team will be coached by Shelly Byrn from North Platte St. Pat's. Byrn's team went 31-2 this season, losing to Hastings St. Cecilia in the C1 third place game.

This is Byrn's second appearance in the all star game after being an assistant for the East in 2008. She will be assisted by Valerie Kershner from Sutherland.

A portion of the proceeds from the West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball game benefit a number of local charities.
