LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The Colorado Christian Cougars Swept the Chadron State Eagles in the first of two softball double-headers in Lakewood, Colo.

Chadron State (9-9) struggled offensively, as they only had seven runs on 16 total hits in the two games Friday afternoon.

Chadron State had a 3-2 lead in the third inning of game one, but couldn’t muster additional runs until the top of the seventh inning when they were trailing 7-3.

Two runs in the seventh made things interesting, but a comeback fell short as the Cougars held on 7-5.

In game two the Rebecca Wetsch tied things up at two all with an RBI single in the third inning. The Chadron State bats went cold the remainder of the game as they lost 8-2.

Rebecca Wetsch and Rebekah Anthony led the Eagles with three hits a piece on the day.

Another double-header against the Cougars is scheduled to begin at noon Saturday.
