The Chadron girls basketball team wore out Lincoln Christian Thursday night, winning their first round state tournament game 54-43.
The Lady Cardinals got out to a fast start thanks to some hot shooting by Ashlyn Eitemiller who propelled Chadron to a 35-23 halftime lead. Eitemiller finished the game with 10 points, all in the first half.
Chadron struggled in the third quarter and Lincoln Christian was able to cut the deficit to eight by the end of the period. The Lady Crusaders went ice cold in the fourth, missing 13 consecutive shots, which allowed Chadron to pull away for a double digit win.
The Lady Cardinals were led by 14 points from Peyton Hinn and 13 from Bailea Kerr. Lincoln Christian had three players in double figures including a double double from Jenna Humphrey, who finished with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
