(Neb.)-Chadron boys beat Mitchell in subdistricts
The Chadron boys basketball team took care of business in its subdistrict opener Tuesday, beating Mitchell 47-27.
The Cardinals got out to a fast start thanks to some hot defense and solid defense to jump out to a 17-5 lead after the first quarter. They pushed the lead to 27-11 at halftime and cruised to a 20 point victory.
Chadron hit five three pointers in the game, including three from Vonsinh Sayaloune, who finished with 11 points. Spencer Eliason was slowed by foul trouble in the first half, but finished strong with 12 points and 9 rebounds.
Chadron advances to face Kimball in the subdistrict final after Kimball beat Gordon-Rushville earlier in the evening 69-26. Chadron vs. Kimball will be Thursday night at 6 in Alliance.
