The Chadron girls basketball team ran its winning streak to nine games with a 69-47 win over Alliance Tuesday.

The Lady Cardinals were up by just four after the first quarter before extending their lead to 28-22 at halftime.

After the break, Peyton Hinn took over with 14 second half points. She finished the game with 20. Ashlea Kerr added 18 to lead Chadron.

Alliance was still within striking distance, trailing by just eight after the third quarter, but Chadron outscored them 24-10 in the fourth to make it a 22 point blow out.

The Chadron boys came up just short in their game, losing to the Bulldogs, 47-43.

It was a back and forth game throughout, with neither team able to get a big lead. Chadron led 16-12 at halftime before Alliance took back a 26-25 lead after the third quarter.

Chadron had a chance to tie down by two with five seconds left, but a questionable foul called against TD Stein on a loose ball gave Ryan Romick two free throws to seal the win for Alliance.

Chadron was led by Spencer Eliason with 12 points and 18 rebounds. Isaac Burnham led Alliance with 20 points, 16 of them in the second half.

Chadron's next action will be Friday night against St. Thomas More.
