(Neb.)-Chadron cross country girls win Sidney Invite
Chadron had three of the top four finishers among the girls Saturday at the Sidney Invite, winning the team competition.
Nicky Applegarth and Kiya Passero both had personal bests on the course while placing first and second and Briley Hannaford took fourth for the Cardinals.
On the boys side, Alec Burk had another strong performance to take third place, Phil Duncan placed fifth and Thomas McClure finished tenth. Burk and McClure both had personal record times.
Head Coach John Girard said it was one of the toughest courses the team has run on all season and he was pleased with the performances. Four of the six varsity boys had personal records and Duncan only missed his personal best by two seconds.
Cross country will head to districts Thursday in Ogallala and Girard said he couldn't be more excited.
