(Neb.)-Chadron volleyball goes 2-1 at Western Conference

The Chadron volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season Saturday, losing the finals of the Western Conference Tournament to Sidney, 25-20, 25-23.

The Cardinals cruised through pool play, beating Scottsbluff and Alliance both in straight sets to set up the showdown with the Red Raiders.

Head Coach Don Matt said Sidney played a solid match and kept Chadron of balance, while the Lady Cardinals made too many errors at important times.

With the win, Sidney improves its record to 18-5. That's the best of any team in the panhandle other than Chadron, which falls to 18-1.

The Cardinals will get a chance for revenge Tuesday night as they host Sidney in their final home game of the season.
