(Neb.)-Chadron golfers qualify for state
The Chadron Girls golf team was one stroke shy of its best team score of the season, shooting a 365 to finish second at the district golf meet Monday in Ogallala.
Kelli Haynes posted a 78 to win the individual title for the fourth year in a row, beating a pair of Ogallala golfers by four shots.
Kortney Hageman finished fourth with an 88, her best score of the season. Head Coach Curt Homquist said he knew Hageman was capable of breaking 90 and doing it under pressure at districts makes it very satisfying.
Taylor Strotheide also placed, tying for 10th with a 98. Cali Crile posted a 101 and Haleigh Shuck finished with a 115.
Ogallala was the top team, with a score of 357.
All five Lady Cardinals qualified for the state tournament, which will be Oct. 8-9 at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus.
