(Neb.)-Lady Cardinals remain unbeaten in triangular

By: Andrew Lacy Posted at: 09/14/2012 10:13 AM
The Chadron volleyball team continued to look like the class of the panhandle Thursday night while hosting Gering and Gordon-Rushville in a triangular.

Chadron got out to a fast start, winning the first set against Gering easily, 25-16. The Bulldogs put up a fight in the second set, but the Lady Cardinals got the win, 26-24.

It was a genuine team effort for Chadron, with four players tallying at least five kills each and five players picking up at least five digs.

Chadron's match against Gordon-Rushville was a little more one-sided, as the Cardinals again won in straight sets, 25-13, 25-20. Ashlyn Eitemiller led the way in the second match with eight kills and four ace serves.

Head Coach Don Matt said his team lacked consistency in serve-receive at times, but showed good offensive distribution among the hitters.

Gering beat Gordon-Rushville in the night's other match, 25-21, 25-20.

Chadron's next action will be Saturday at Kimball in a triangular with Kimball and Mitchell.
