Three Chadron State College football players have each been selected to the 2012 USA Football News Division II Preseason All-American Team.

Garrett Gilkey, a 6-foot-7, 320-pound left tackle, is on the Offensive First Team, while Kevin Lindholm, a 6-2, 220-pound linebacker, and Keifer Burke, a 6-3, 280-pound defensive end, are on the Defensive Second Team.

Gilkey, a native of Sandwich, Ill., has started in 22 games in his career at tackle and looks to help anchor the offensive line this season.

Lindholm, an Eads, Colo., product, and also a preseason All-American choice by Beyond Sports Network, led the Eagles with 89 tackles in 2011 and he also broke up four passes and added five tackles for a loss.

Burke, a native of Brady, had 40 tackles, six sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss in 2011.

The Eagles, who opened fall camp last week, will open their season Thursday, Aug. 30 against Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m.
