(Neb.) - 3 Nebraska players named to All-Big Ten 1st team
By: John Thayer Posted at: 05/22/2012 03:22 PM LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Three Nebraska players have been named to the 13-man All-Big Ten Conference baseball first team.
The league announced the teams Tuesday. Nebraska's first-teamers are designated hitter Michael Pritchard, shortstop Chad Christensen and outfielder Rich Sanguinetti.
Pritchard, a sophomore from Omaha, leads the Big Ten with a .379 batting average. Christensen, a junior from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is batting .322 with a team-leading 46 RBIs. Sanguinetti, a junior
from Arlington, Texas, is batting .320 and has committed just one error in center field.
Third baseman Josh Scheffert is on the second team. First baseman Richard Stock, second baseman Pat Kelly and pitcher Kyle Kubat are on the third team.
Kelly, Kubat and outfielder Austin Darby are on the all-freshman team.
League champion Purdue placed four players on the first team.
