(Neb)-State Chamber of Commerce Names New President
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - An Omaha tax attorney who is also a trained accountant has been named as the new president and CEO of the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry...the State Chamber.
Bryan Slone takes over May 1st from Barry Kennedy, who is retiring later this year after 32 years with the State Chamber, the last 19 as president. Kennedy is pleased with the selection of Slone, , who also ran for governor 4 years ago,
Kennedy says "Nebraska and its business community have made great strides in recent years," but now face numerous challenges that require leaders like Slone - capable of taking the steps needed to make Nebraska more competitive, expand job growth and investment, and improve the quality of life
Slone was legal advisor to the IRS commissioner and a House Ways and Means staffer in the 1980s, helping shape the 1986 overhaul of the federal tax code, and he worked in the 1990s as a tax attorney in East Berlin.
