(SD)-Grass Fire Burns 150 Acres At Bear Butte State Park
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A weekend grass fire on the north side of Bear Butte State Park near Sturgis burned 150 acres before it was fully contained early Sunday morning.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and crews will continue mopping up the fire for at least the next few days, so the final size could change.
Gusty winds helped spread the fire, which was battled by local, state and federal firefighters. No structures were endangered, no one had to be evacuated, and no injuries reported. No one had to be evacuated.
Bear Butte State Park is 6 miles northeast of Sturgis.
