(Neb)-PSC Rejects Motions To Amend Keystone XL Route Decision
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska Public Service Commission has denied motions from both sides to amend its decision approving a route for the Keystone XL pipeline through the state.
The commission approved a route other than the one sought by pipeline developer TransCanada while leading opponents of the project argued that the panel overstepped its jurisdiction and denied due process to affected landowners with the decision.
The opponents said the alternative route will affect landowners who didn't have a chance to speak against the project because they weren't along the company's preferred route
TransCanada had asked the commission to let it file an amended application to thwart an appeal on those grounds. Either side or both may choose to appeal the route decision in court.
