(Neb)-Suspect In Cheyenne-Area Homicide Arrested In Kimball
KIMBALL, Neb, (AP) - A man wanted for the death of a man found in a Cheyenne-area reservoir last Sunday was captured Saturday evening along with his girlfriend in Kimball. 21-year old Armando Ramirez-Serna of Cheyenne had been sought on a 1st-degree murder warrant in the death of 19-year old Justin Robinson.
Kimball County Sheriff's Deputy Anthony Osborn says his office received a tip late Saturday afternoon that Ramirez-Serna was in Kimball. Osborn told KNEB radio that working with Kimball police, the Nebraska State Patrol, and the Laramie County, Wyo, Sheriff's office, it was determined that Ramirez-Serna was in a motel room.
Osborn says officers secured the area and the State Patrol used a PA system to talk Ramirez-Serna into coming outside, where he was arrested without incident about 5 p.m. His girlfriend, Raquel Rodriguez, was also taken into custody on related charges.
The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports that Ramirez-Serna declined to speak with investigators about his alleged role in the death of Robinson, whose body was found in the water by Laramie County deputies investigating a burned SUV. Four people have now been arrested in the case.
Sheriff's Captain Linda Gesell says detectives believe Ramirez-Serna and Robinson were acquaintances and may have been together last weekend. They also believe there was foul play related to narcotics and that Robinson was killed elsewhere, then dumped in the reservoir.
Authorities have investigated a location where shots were fired the night before the body was found, but have not said if they believe it's where Robinson was killed.
