(Neb)-Raid On Pot Grow Operation In Chadron Results In 1 Arrest
CHADRON - A Chadron man is in custody following a police raid on a marijuana grow operation Tuesday afternoon in Chadron. 41-year old Leon Garza is charged with manufacturing marijuana.
Chadron police officer Matt Freeman says his department and the WING drug task force had received information earlier in the day of an alleged grow operation that led to a search warrant raid by WING, Chadron police, and Nebraska State Patrol officers on a Shelton Street home about 4:30 pm.
Officer Freeman says a search of the residence resulted in the seizure of 4 marijuana plants and jars with what appeared to be marijuana along with a number of items related to growing and selling pot including scales, lights,, grow tents, and ventilation systems, and marijuana inhalation devices. Two firearms were also seized along with "marijuana inhalation devices."
The WING High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Drug and Violent Crime Task Force is comprised of investigators from the Nebraska State Patrol and local law enforcement agencies in the Panhandle which is funded by the members and a Nebraska Crime Commission grant.
