(Wyo)-UW Students Protest For More Response To Sexual Assaults

By: John Axtell Posted at: 11/22/2017 11:46 PM
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Several University of Wyoming students walked out of class on Monday and rallied to show support for sexual assault victims. The students marched across campus to deliver a signed petition to UW President Laurie Nichols questioning how the university handles sexual assault.
The petition demanding the school do more to prevent sexual assault and help survivors comes as a surge of sexual assault and misconduct allegations sweeps the nation, and after UW police reported an assault occurred on campus earlier this month.
University police say a female victim was walking across a parking lot when an unknown suspect tackled and sexually assaulted her.
