(Neb)-More Details Available On Gering High Incident

GERING - Thanks to court records, we now know a little bit more about the incident Monday morning at Gering High School that resulted in the arrest of a 16-year old for trying to assault a teacher.

       Scotts Bluff County juvenile court records show that the teen, whose name has not been released, is charged with attempted 1st-degree sexual assault, felony use of a weapon, and terroristic threats for using a pocket knife to menace the teacher who was not hurt.

       The boy was arrested by Gering police and Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's deputies about 7:20 Monday roughly 2 blocks from the high school. .

       He appeared in Scotts Bluff County Court later that day and is scheduled for his next appearance in two weeks on Wednesday Dec. 6. He is currently being held in a detention facility outside the local area.
