(Neb)-Jim Gardner Honored By Neb CPA Society
CHADRON - Jim Gardner of Chadron has been honored by the Nebraska Society of CPAs with its 2017 Public Service Award, recognizing a lifetime of unselfish service and commitment to clients, organizations, and public projects in Chadron and the Panhandle.
The CPA Society Award comes on the heels of Gardner being named the Nebraska Phi Beta Lambda business honorary Business Person of the Year as the nominee from Chadron State College.
Gardner joined Fred A Lockwood and Company in 1984, became a partner in 1991, and managing partner in 2011. About the time the company's founder and namesake decided to retire, Gardner and 2 other Chadron partners formed their own firm. Gardner, Loutzenhiser, and Ryan opening its doors in January of last year with Gardner the managing partner.
It was one of his partners who nominated him the CPA Society state award, saying "Jim is extremely knowledgeable and caring, dedicated to his profession and going the extra step for his clients and staff.
The award citation emphasizes Gardner's community involvement as well, including serving on multiple boards, acting as coach or referee for several youth sports, supporting Chadron State athletics, and holding multiple positions at his church.
