(Neb.)-SWANN Reminds People Of Proper Tree Limb Disposal
(Chadron)-The Solid Waste Agency of Northwest Nebraska, or SWANN, is asking residents to be advised that the green dumpsters located in alleys and next to brown dumpsters in town are not to be used for anything other than grass clippings and leaves. In a press release from SWANN, they are aware that people will begin cleaning up more debris from the October storm, and wanted to make residents aware of this distinction.
SWANN anticipates a large number of branches still to be disposed of from the storm, and are asking cooperation from area residents. Branches and limbs may be put in the brown dumpsters, but they must also fit inside the dumpster. Anything sticking up and outside of the dumpster makes collection impossible. A rule of thumb is that the lids need to be able to close properly.
Material set beside the dumpsters will NOT be collected. Anything not able to fit into the brown dumpsters should be hauled to the SWANN transfer station at 1010 E. Niobrara in Chadron. SWANN thanks everyone for their cooperation.
